The Saddest Picture In The World (This challenge is now closed)

This week's challenge is simple: make us cry. We want to see the saddest picture in the world, ever.
(, Wed 13 Aug 2008, 21:15)
I think I'll come back in a week.

It's a bit much to come to a humour site to escape the world and see that some twat has decided on a week of "my cat/dog/etc died" I'd rather not.
If you want I can post photos of my dog that died riddled with visible fat tumours, after being having his life sapped away by Cushing's disease.
Someone I know diagonsed with a neurilogical disease. A person in the same department as me suddenly died from menigitis on the weekend. He was 39. I found out this morning someone else I did first year with had died from a brain injury sustained playing soccer.
I don't need /board full of more misery. For those that stay, enjoy your week of unhappy pictures. The dead cats, the burning monks and the starving children.

half way through making this, I thought - 'hang on, penguins can swim!' But, I made the picture, dammit, so I'll post it anyway.

OK, you want genuine sadness?
I wrote the poem as I had to make the horrible decision to put my best friend of 20 years to sleep last year.
