It wasn't until the b3ta mods read the Flashman novels that we changed from mild-mannered computer operators into heavily-whiskered copulators, poltroons and all round bastards in a well-known cavalry regiment.

I read all of Steinbeck's stuffafter I discovered he'd been mates with a distant uncle of mine who was a sculptor. Apparently he came to stay a few times.
I read East of Eden whilst at an IT conference in Atlanta. So jetlagged I couldn't sleep, I just sat in my 30th floor hotel room reading East of Eden aloud to myself for a whole weekend.
It was quite trippy to be honest. God knows what the people in next door rooms thought.
