This is a question Bizarre habits

Sandettie Light Vessel Automatic tells us: "Until I pointed it out, my other half use to hang out the washing making sure that both pegs were the same colour. Now she goes out of her way to make sure they never match." Tell us about bizarre rituals, habits and OCD-like behaviour.

food weirdness
When eating a meal - say a good hearty meal of steak, potatoes and peas - I have to eat the different items so they stay in roughly the same proportions on the plate. So it's 'an amount' of the peas, followed by the same amount of the potato, the same of the steak, peas, potato, steak, peas, etc, etc.

At the end of the meal I'm left with a comically pixie-sized micromeal on my plate. Every time, without having any idea I'm doing it.

Mr Hose on the other hand eats everything in turn - so, all the peas, THEN all the potatoes, and finally all the steak. It distresses me but he will not accept he's wrong.

Mr Hose has the right idea
Never really thought about it before but eating your way sounds weird. If you get a sandwich and a choccy bar for lunch you don't eat a bit of sandwich and a bit of choccy then a bit more sandwich then a bit more choccy do you.

But
would you lick the butter off, then eat the bread, then eat the lettuce, then the bacon and then the tomato?

No... but I would open it up and rearrange the ingredients if they weren't evenly distributed. Sandwiches with all the filling piled up in the middle and a centimetre of dry crust around the edge piss me right off.

And tomatoes in sandwiches can just fuck off with themselves. Wet + acidic + bread = wrong.

I'm going to end up dying alone in a house full of cats, aren't I?

That's just good food management
who wants to end up with just a pile of peas on their plate?

This is exactly the same as me and my Mr.
Why would you want to eat a big pile of potatoes all on their own without any meat to go with it? I don't understand it. :(

You
Are correct.

It's getting so depressing reading all these. I'm not mad, but I'm starting to think I might be somewhat unhinged - I'm agreeing with too many of them... :-(
