Rubbish Towns
I once went to Basildon. It was closed, I got chased by a bunch of knuckle-dragged yobs until I was lost in a maze of concrete alleyways and got food poisoning off pie. Tell us about the awful places you've visited or have your home.
Thanks to SpankyHanky for the suggestion

Bowthorpe, Norwich
IF you thought Norwich was filled with inbred people, you havn't seen Bownthorpe which is just outside Norwich.. its virtually a town/village/cess pit controlled by chavs..
Now if only they would put a wall around it..

I can vouch for this
I live in Norwich, and I STAY in Norwich (which is bad enough).
Bowthorpe is one of the reasons* I do not travel outside of the city centre.
* The others being Earlham, Larkman and Mile Cross

earlham
thats just the frontal invasion force.. the only reason they don't get any further is due to the UEA being an effective barrier.

The main roundabout in Earlham has some awesome graffiti on the side of one of the shops.
In massive white capital letters.... "WEST EARLHAM".
As if you could be anywhere else.
Even the library has safety shutters.

Hahaha
Yes I saw this a couple of weeks ago.
I grew up in West Earlham and moved away nearer the city about 10 years ago.
As I said, I went back to the area a couple of weeks ago for a dentist appointment. It was scary how little had changed, it was like the area was stuck in time.

I was going to cite Larkman and Earlham, but I've been beaten to it.
Mile Cross is alright if you stay away from the tower blokes.
Lakenham is full of rapists.
I live just outside Bowthorpe - have to venture through it to get to my local supermarket. It's kind of soviet in its deprivation. If soviet Russia had been populated by fat slags in trackie bottoms.

Hey!
I live in Lakenham and have never seen a rapist, well not any OTHER rapists anyway.

Agreed.
I live in Costessey, which is also a shithole in places, but nowhere near as nasty as Bowthorpe.
Though none of the nasty places in Norwich, imho, are a patch on Romford.

student landlord
in my coming into second year, we had to find a house to live, and one of the placaes the landlord took us was 'Bowthorpe'
Now, he tried his pitch and everything, made us come on a nice day, but it still didn't make any difference when chavs walked by and shouted 'Fuck off you fucking student twats'.
I wish they would build a wall around it and carpet bomb it already.. maybe invite israel to do it for us?

I was a Kettlemaster ...
... 15 years ago and still driving past Bowthorpe makes me dry heave
As I now live near the Fat Cat at least I can now try to wash away the horror ;-)

Oh! The Fat Cat!
The thing I miss most about not living in Norwich any more. It is truly the pub of the Gods...
