Ah, Ph.D days...They were awesome. Being a post-doc is sort-of better as at least you don't have to work to a dealine and can somehow convince the postgrads to do your work for you...

My students won't do my work for me :(and they expect me to help them with theirs.

they're your first PhD student and you are responsible for them for the next four years
Mine has his progress interview in a week and a half and I think I'm more nervous about it than he is!
