a busk
is the fastenings at the front of a corset that allow it to be put on and taken off without fully unlacing it. you close the busks (vaguely like bra fastenings but much more heavy-duty) then start lacing up at the back. it can take 15 minutes to fully lace a corset to get it pulled in evenly and tight enough, though sometimes it gets too tight and you can't breathe. I think part of that though might have been to do with me being pregnant but not knowing it, hence now needing to sell it.
