Yeah the man with no name was a concept invented to market the Leone films to US audiences. [Different] Names are unambiguously given for the Eastwood character in all of them.
Though as champagnerocker didn't say, it's also just as easy (watching it) to say that they're all just names given to him be the other characters in the film because they didn't know what else to call him. "Blondie" and "Joe" because he was an American among Mexicans.
"Manco" (Spanish for "one-armed") because you only usually saw one arm outside his poncho (the other being firmly attached to his gun-butt).
Nobody really knows what the character's name was.
