- Blue (nitrile) gloves don't protect against phenol, for that you want the green (neoprene) gloves.
- We use shitloads of tubes, slightly less bottles, and jars are generally only for disposing of pipette tips.
- I actually do stare at tubes like that, holding them up to the light is useful for checking your cell/DNA/RNA pellet.
- There are more women than men in the lab so usually it's the guys who are waiting for the ladies to finish on the microscope.
- Skeletons are indeed merciless killers.
