For animations? Grab Paint Shop Pro and Animation Shopthey're free for 30 days, more if you can find a suitable grease (disable javascript before clicky). Or you could just PAY.

i don't, myselfi use photoshop and imageready. but lots of people here use the gimp. hellllloooooo! gimp users? i'm sure there'll be some around who can help you out.
