It's what politicians do.I've listened to dozens of ministerial "grillings" on breakfast radio over the course of this year, and I don't recall a single straight answer being given. Or in fact, any acknowledgement of what the questions were. They might as well just say, "I'm glad you asked me that, Mishal, now I shall read a series of totally unrelated pre-prepared statements".

Or until they had to stop the interview. I completely agree, there’s nothing even approaching that level of relentlessness in the US mainstream media and i5 would be very welcome.
