Just to maintain conversational continuity I will not edit my original comment.But I guess I need to clarify by saying that these would be apples found on the ground and half-rotting.

Ahhh I see so say apples that have fallen from a tree and all mushed from people stepping on them, and rotting in the sun for example? Nope, still don't know what they smell like.
