It usually happens......mid to late Friday morning, UK time.
It's usually Chthonic that handles the challenge - he will start a thread asking for suggestions, then later ask for votes on the best half dozen or so suggestions.
Although, every now and then, the powers that be decide for us.

So while I am comfy in my American bed, dreaming up wonderful b3ta challenges...The English geniuses who came up with crap competitions like the "cheese & curry" challenge are determining my viewing pleasure for the following week? Sounds fair.
