Once you have the basic concepts of image manipulation
you're most of the way there to being able to use it. It can be obscure at times, but hopefully a skim over the manula should get me started properly :)
I do miss photoshop but I'm sure I won't soon...

I found it hard to work at first
but I think I'm quite handy with it now, the only problem I have with it now is that it crashes occasionally but I understand it does that less when used in Linux, so lucky you!
