OH GOD
I clicked. And then the popups came to chase me into a state of shock.

I tried mozilla when I got my new PC
all the icons were wrong and it screwed up my settigns. I never touched it again

Allow me to explain
The icon problem was with the icons on the buttons in mozilla.
It played silly buggers with my internet settings, and just wasn't that good (this is over a year ago, no doubt many bugs have been fixed since)
New XP PC, IE & Outlook Express worked fine, so I used them, now I'm in a rut & have no desire to change. OK?

because it's a different browser to internet exploder. Did you actually give it a chance? Not only is it faster and friendlier than IE it's also a damn site more secure 'cos it doesn't have that activeX bollocks that nobody apart from spammers and virus writers uses any more :)
Oh, and Mozilla and Firebird are 2 completely different things.....

*100% fact*
I say wrong
they were the old Netscape 4.5 icons all jumbled up and not quite fitting into the spaces. I used to be a dyed-in-the-wool Nestcape user, but after 7, it all went crappy, and mozilla was the same story. For me at least.

we need version numbers....STAT!
Here's a screenshot of my firebird setup:
clicky!
no dodgy icons there, and they've been the same since I started with FB at 0.6 or thereabouts :)

Mozilla 1.4
Maybe. Thought I'd uninstalled it, but there's something labelled 'Mozilla 1.4' in my add/remove window.
It was November/December time, 2002.

oo bloody 'ell,
that was the time *I* tried Moz for about a day and swiftly binned it faster than something that was binned quickly.
Seriously - get Firebird 0.7 (stable) or if yer feeling brave one of the nightly 0.8 builds. You won't regret it!

OK guys
*looking up & down @ once*
I may consider it. IE does piss me off sometimes. Not remebering what size its window should be, only wanting to save as bitmaps when there's too maby cached files, I could go on...
May give firebird a go when the rest of my life is balanced. New browser is quite an upheaval, no matter how good it is. Thanks

Google toolbar
is a fantastic invention, particularly if you're in the habit of visiting, um , sites which use a lot of pop-up advertising, um, yes...

99.5% of the time
it does the job. It's an arms race! Google toolbar'll catch up pretty quickly - thing is there are limits on what the sites can do without your express agreement. Which is good.
