imageready is very unfamiliar to me, i use fireworks mainly.
I couldn't imaginge doing that in it.

You can't really
because you can't import video. But I still end up importing video to ImageReady and exporting the gif and then tweaking in Fireworks.

If you cropped
the image to only show important parts and reduced the canvas size a tad you could create a dramatically smaller file
