it's not even as if the effects could be much better.
Remakes have their place, but it should be a tough place to get to. The remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still was visually cool, but was like Einsteins mongy cousin in relation to the original. I do kinda want to see Aranofskys Robocop though, even if the original is one of my favourite films.
