The Goat writes, "Some books have made a huge impact on my life." It's true. It wasn't until the b3ta mods read the Flashman novels that we changed from mild-mannered computer operators into heavily-whiskered copulators, poltroons and all round bastards in a well-known cavalry regiment.
What books have changed the way you think, the way you live, or just gave you a rollicking good time?
Friendly hint: A bit of background rather than just a bunch of book titles would make your stories more readable

brought me to tears before the end of the first chapter. A beautiful book which everyone should read. I dare everyone to read it and not cry like girl.

even then it struck a chord. i even read the follow-up novel, but it wasn't quite as heart-rending.

It's actually a required Summer Reading title for a school here. I was a bit surprised, honestly.

I read it when I was about 14 and I blubbed like a girl (Well, I am a girl, but hey ho). It's such a moving book, and I agree that everyone should read it at least once
