Sounds like you had a fucking awful time of it. I hate it when the authority figures themselves basicaly pretend that it's not happening. It's an utter betrayal of the kids they're supposed to protect. Still, congratulations on coming out of it the better man.

I work in a school now - have done for 5 years but only will for another few weeks (new job) and we've made huge efforts here to stop bullys getting away with it. I have to say though that this is so rare that we now have to teach other schools how to do it and THEY JUST ARNT INTERESTED. They see bullying as an interuption into time they could spend doing something else (like going on facebook it seems) and that makes me so annoyed.
Bullying will never stop but it sure as hell can be handled.

well done. A lot more schools needs to take your advice. I know from my nephew that a lot of bullying is overlooked in schools even to this day.
