I think The wire is very good.
It's one of the ONLY things i watch on tv besides British comedy and the odd documentary about quick sand.

But then I also have at least ten films on DVD that I haven't watched yet. Some of which I've had for at least a couple of years. Basically... actually I don't know where that's going. I wouldn't watch it then either; it's still too much of my time.

But I'm afraid, unlike yours my life isn't so hectic that I can't spare 1 hour per night just before bed watching insanely good T.V.!!

I actually buy DVD box-sets to stop me going out to pubs and spending money, and it works!

I agree apart The Wire
It really is the best TV series I've ever seen. They actualy put effort into it. It was written for the characters not the plot. Most episodes don't end on a "cliffhanger" there's no need.

It was properly researched. The guy who wrote it spent a year with the Balitmore Homicide department and wrote a book. He got asked to write the series so he went and spent time with the corner drug dealers to get their side of it. Alot of the plot lines are based on actual events (Series 1 abnd 3 main stories did happen). Alot of the cast are actual cops or gangsta's. He also got tons of them helping behind the scenes getting everything right.

I did get caught up with "Prison Break" and never missed an episode from first to last.

Loved it, then it went all wierd after series 2..

Bloke who's a genius gets locked up on purpose, then escapes (obviously) with a load of new found friends.

Suddenly all and sundry have a knack of escaping from any form of captivity, regardless of who's chasing after them, their rank or sheer numbers, and quicker than Houdini with a box of invisible cloaks.

Liked lost too - but got bored of them stupid flashbacks which took nearly half an episode to get through before the story continued.

It really is quite remarkable, especially the series set in an inner city school. How did they find so many incredible young actors?

I'm always being told how fucking amazing it is, only to sit down and watch it to find that I have to have been there since day fucking one to appreciate it in the slightest. Jeeves and Wooster, now THERE was a good Hugh Laurie programme.
