I don't understand the attraction
Smaug says: Ricky Gervais. Lesbian pr0n. Going into a crowded bar, purely because it's crowded. All these things seem to be popular with everybody else, but I just can't work out why. What leaves you cold just as much as it turns everyone else on?

Hmmm...
True, but the channels that show mainstream reality TV have massive budgets and can produce the occasional quality programme. The state of TV in this country though is utterly depressing.

a thing of the past. Get used to cheap TV, you're going to be seeing a lot of it.

We do OK for TV here
Not cynical and therefore maybe open to attack, but there is some good stuff on the BBC if you grub around in the Radio Times for it -- particulary BBC 2, 3 & 4. C4 delivers the occasional whimsical gem too. Might not all be to your taste, but it's pretty diverse. Compare it to the output from any other country in Europe, or, heaven forbid, Asia.
