My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.

WorkMy ex boss was half English, half Scottish, born in India (her Dad was in the army). Her best friend kept refering to her as a "Paki". I pointed out she was born in India - "Same place innit".
