If UK basedyou'll have a job getting hold of diethyl ether domestically and trying to knock up your own from ethanol and sulphuric acid is a whole nother route to the burns unit. Plus pure ethanol is also not available for home use. (Distilling it from surgical spirit could work but it's a lot of trouble)
