Growing up in the seventiesThe test card was always sinister. Maybe it was just because it meant we had to wait for interesting TV.
Looking back I see that test card and am reminded of The Deer Hunter. It looks like the girl is being forced to play Russian Roulette noughts and crosses whilst the evil clown and balloon thing are gambling on the outcome . .
