I've heard similar allegations about Costa, from someone who used to work there.
The story is that there isn't any more coffee in the swimming pool-sized mug than in its smaller brethren. However, I've not taken a measuring jug with me (and I prefer to drink coffee, not swim in it) so I can't vouch for the veracity of the claims.
