Being an exam invigilator....
... for mock GCSEs at the start of this year. I only got the job because they were short a few people and my mum is a teacher at the school. And it was £190ish for about three hours a day over a week.

Basically I got to look vaguely smart, wander around a hall/gym full of students in exam conditions and watch them not cheat. There was the occasional fetching of extra sheets of paper, rulers, calculators etc. and the odd tissue or glass of water for kids with a cold. Other than that, I got to hang out in the science department drinking tea and playing Professor Layton until the end of the day when I got a lift home.

Easiest money I've ever made right there.

The one time I have an answer to post
and you've bloody nicked it! And it's only Thursday!

*fumes*

Still though, you're right. Piece of piss, invigilation. If you can hack being quiet and standing for 3 hours.

Sorry >.>
Didn't mean to, honest!
There is the standing... I cheated, I sat on spare tables at the back ^_^

At the last exam I invigilated
I caught three people cheating!

And they were Masters students too; paying serious money to be in that room.

I wrote the exam.

(I suspect it may have been too difficult).

Ah well. Discipline cases abound...

Ooh
I spent a couple of years invigilating (at exam times) and it drove me nuts - 3 hours+ of pacing slowly around the room and staying quiet just made me fidgety - I ended up counting ceiling tiles and working out percentages of girls/boys, gingers/non-gingers etc. . .
