Sorry to hear that...It doesn't exactly sound "eccentric" to me though. It's just that love can make you temporarily retarded. But you say your sister is not dumb, so maybe there's a chance that she'll come to her senses some day and leave the scumbag...?

I come from a very unstable home environmentand have regularly been in very unstable relationships in the past.
It's all down to underlying psychology. People sometimes seek out destructive relationships if they're not happy with themselves, their past, something that haunts them etc to validate their demons.
Yup, it's fucked up, but it happens more often than you'd believe.
