Totally agreeHero is a seriously overused word, particularly on what passes for news in Australia. The obsession with sportsmen (and it is almost exclusively men) is pathetic. I'd heard of Ben bloody Cousins on the news dozens of times before I realised that the reason people were so interested in this arrogant, spoiled, druggy wee nyaff was that he happened to be pretty good at kicking a ball around. I now rarely watch the news or read the papers, if I do I make sure it's from some advert free source so they're less likely to be pandering to some advertiser's whim.
