What kind of festival have you been to?
a) So the fuck what about cost? They can be bloody expensive to run, particularly the smaller ones that have many of the legal obligations of the big ones and less income. Don't like it? Don't go.
Of course, that's if you're doing it legally..
b) Even at festival type things I've been to where middle class people were fairly prominent, ski-ing was hardly a topic of conversation. Everyone is usually talking about the music or whatever other common theme brings you together.
Even if you do find a group of idiots (and thieving scum are, of course, so much better than middle class wankers), move on and find someone nicer. That's the joy of having lots of nice people to talk to.
