Mad Max 2: a sequel that's better than the original.
Much better and more fully realized vision than Mad Max 1.
I saw the badly dubbed version (into US english for dozy Yanks)of the 1st film, so that was an initially off-putting but other than the brilliant opening and closing scenes it was just a cheesy retread of Dirty Harry. It didn't make much sense either.
Why would defense lawyers have so much power in a post apocalyptic society, getting villains off on technicalities? Why would they even exist? Martial-law time scumbags! You eyed up my oil supply in a suspicious manner...DIE! Case closed.
Yet people insist that the 1st one was better. Despite the distinct lack of mutants in bondage gear.

My friend's dad was in both of those - in the second one, he was a messed up guy strapped to a dune buggy.
