I blame the mediaour expectations of how people should react to trauma are so shaped by movies/tv etc that anything that falls outside that is seen as wrong.
Truth is that reactions to trauma are complex, and reactions like this (and even more bizarre) are far more common than we would realise.
It is easy to judge when you think you know.
