This is a question Hidden talents

Roger Boyes tells us: "I was once coaxed up on stage and did ten minutes of off-the-cuff stand-up comedy. Amazingly, I brought the house down. A few weeks later, having rehearsed like hell, I went back to the same stage and got hardly a titter. Well, sod that." Have you ever amazed yourself with hidden talents?

If you can understand less than two words of it,
it's probably a bit of a stretch to claim that you can read Klingon.

I can read and write the alphabet. That's very different from being able to understand the language.
Take the post above yours for example. I could transliterate that into the 'proper' writing system but that doesn't mean I can grasp what it says.

I can do the same with Greek, incidentally, but that's just because you learn pretty much all the alphabet if you do anything involving physics.
