I recently visted Yankistan.
I figured it was my charitable duty to help prop up a comedy third-world economy.

One of the reasons I like visiting Yankistan is that I don't even have to try when it comes to pulling the birds. All I have to do is "say something English" and they come running, knickers dropping like stones.

I was in a shop talking to one of the salesdroids when from behind me I heard a breathy, "I just love your accent." Thinking I'd just scored yet again, I turned round, debonair smile on my face, to see someone who could charitably be described as making Dawn French look like a supermodel.

Yes, I shuddered.

But I was more than happy to bask in the attention of the pretty barmaid the next evening.

I got halfway through googling 'Yankistan' thinking "Hmm... Haven't heard of that one before".

Then the penny dropped...
