This is a question Pathological Liars

Friz writes, "I recently busted my mate who claimed to have 'supported the Kaiser Chiefs in 2001' by gently mentioning that they weren't even called that back then."

Some people seem to lead complete fantasy lives with lies stacked on lies stacked on more lies. Tell us about the ones you've met.

BTW, if any of you want to admit to making up all your QOTW stories, now would be a good time to do it.

I never 'got'
When I was very young, my dad always used to tell me 'if you ask, you don't get'....it wasn't until I was in my late teens that I realised that wasn't the way the phrase went...and that I never 'got' anyway.

My dad
kept it simple with "I want, doesn't get"

Mind you, the big liar also told me that trains going over the Forth Bridge (cantilevered for those who don't know), went up and down the top rails like a roller-coaster. I was at least eight before I actually saw a train going over and realised the truth!

The Forth Bridge
That's a classic, every young kid who sees the bridge gets told that by a malicious parent.

In case anyone is unaware of what the Forth Bridge looks like, see this or this (apologies for the large file sizes).
