the skin crawlingis a histamine reaction. Quit a common codeine side effect. Worth having some OTC antihistamines to hand if you go down that route.

Itchy skin is pretty common for opiates generally.Skin irritation, constipation and a complete lack of any connection to the rest of the world seems to be the common thread for opiate abuse.
