The nicest thing someone's ever done for me
In amongst all the tales of bitterness and poo, we occasionally get fluffy stories that bring a small tear to our internet-jaded eyes.
In celebration of this, what is the nicest thing someone's done for you? Whether you thoroughly deserved it or it came out of the blue, tell us of heartwarming, selfless acts by others.
Failing that, what nice things have you done for other people, whether they liked it or not?

Chips
Last night my friend Jon was round my house, along with Mr CSL and our friend Chris. Jon and I offered to go on a fish & chip run.
Mr CSL orders cod and chips with curry sauce. Chris orders two sausages and chips - plain ones, no sauce, no nothing.
We come to the queue. I order stuff. The fish and chip man makes Chris's chips and says "salt and vinegar?" I say yes, and he goes ahead. Jon says quietly, "Chris asked for plain chips."
I think "Oh no," and wonder what to do. The chips have been wrapped up.
Jon's turn comes. He orders curry and chips and then an extra portion of chips - plain. And swaps them with the chips for Chris that I ruined.
He didn't even want the extra chips.
I think that was a really nice thing to do.

You know, CSL
there are some really big nicest-thing-ever tales on here and they tend to dwarf stories like yours.
But many of those involved amazing or unusual situations; day-to-day, we could all do with being a little more 'Jon'.

Of course
if John was really nice he would have quickly interrupted you before the chip man had the chance to put the salt and vinegar on.
I think he just wanted this to happen so he could purchase the extra chips in order to a) reap the glory of being the greatest friend in the history of friendship and get a good write up on B3ta and b) so he could stuff the salt and vinegar abused chips into a sock once they had gone cold and then vigorously poke it with his erect member.
Just saying you know.
