Tabloid newspaper "campaigns"
Whether it's the Daily Nazi telling us that we should all bow down in reverence for the elderly or the Sun insisting that we still need to be checking under our beds for Maddie, these ventures really grind my 'nads. Somehow, not being credited with the ability to draw my own conclusions from the stories and cack-handed statistics on offer makes me like my hospital wards filthy, my food over-packaged and my fuel bills sky high. Thats just the way it is.

Absolutely...
Surely newspapers are just supposed to tell us what's happening in the world? Since when did they gain a licence to start giving us orders and instructions - let alone tell us what we should think about something. Articles on tabloid front pages which contain such statements as "This is truly shocking."
Thanks. I could have fucking worked that out my fucking self.

Reet big click!
Tabloids are a big peeve of mine. If you ask yourself "What is NEWS?" it's difficult to ascertain a definitive answer.
I take the objective to be something like "Events or developments which are of interest to the wider community".
It is effectively impossible to actually deliver pure news. You always get the reporter / journalist's take on said events as well as the effect any editorial chiefs want to add.
