This is a question Phobias

What gives you the heebie-jeebies?

It's a bit strong to call this a phobia, but for me it's the thought of biting into a dry flannel. I've no idea why I'd ever want to or even get the opportunity to do so, seeing as I don't own one, but it makes my teeth hurt to think about it. *ewww*

Tell us what innocent things make you go pale, wobbly and send shivers down your spine.

I dont know if its a phobia of such
But i'm terrified of falling in love.

Seriously, spend all that time fawning over your chosen person ( or thing for all you hoover fanatics out there :P ) of affection and for what at the end? Heartbreak.

God i sound like a cunt :/

anyone know the name of a Fear of Love?

I do however have normal phobias such as the Dark, enclosed spaces, wasps, bees, moths, Daddy long legs and being sick to an extent.

See I'm normal :D
....oh

I am at pains to say this but....
It's better to have loved and lost then never to have loved at all.

Fear of love = philophobia.

@PlumDozer...

Isn't 'Philophobia' the fear of Clint Eastwood's character in 'Every Which Way But Loose'?

psychobabble
Compassionate question: how long has it been since you and your partner split up?
I could try some psychobabble here but sod it. Is it the feeling of being in love you fear or the inevitable pain and disappointment of failure?

Therefore, is it not failure that's the core fear? I'm not knocking it - I have it myself.

So go forth, fall in love and enjoy it.

Yes, I sympathise with that
but it's only been four days and I'm not willing to stick my neck out there again just yet. I'm too traditional to have something no-strings too, so I'm just stuck.

lol i didnt realise i would get so many replies
but its not failure of fear, im far to used to it, i EMBRACE IT :D

We split up a while ago and since then we've both been out with a few people, but that fears still there.
its stopping me going out with someone atm :/

I have exactly this fear but not with regard to partners
Children. I don't want to have a child because I will love it unconditionally and it will suck my life and make me old and exhausted and will just cause my grief and end up at best hating me and at worst just thinking I'm the most embarrassing, boring person in the world and I will still be stuck loving it. ARGH!!!

Heh, I guess I'm just not a kids person....
