Midday GenocideIt was whilst doing a short stint in a London bank I first learned that not all the phrases we use in Ireland are universal. When asked if I fancied some lunch I said

Apparently 'sambo' doesn't mean sandwich in England.

I had the opposite problemI asked for a sambo with lots of butter. Imagine my fury on receiving a sandwich, rather than a well-lubricated negro prostitute!
