I'm from newarkSince being one of the last royalist's strongholds during the English Civil War it's not had much going for it: Other than in the 70's Jasper Carrot pointing out it the only place in Britain that's an anagram of wanker.
Since then it raised Fred Barras and Brendon Fearon who went on to get shot at (and in the former case killed by) Tony Martin.
Go team infamy.
