The best thing about vinylyou can't possibly make a small record player. Or I suppose you could but it'd be pretty awful, incredibly complex and thoroughly unneccesary. And you'd still need to cart the records about.
Anyway, my point is that with all that space required anyway you may as well add on decent speakers- you'll never find a vinyl player with truely godawful mobile phone style speakers.
Music is for enjoying.
