Amazing displays of ignorance
Sandettie Light Vessel Automatic tells us: "My dad's friend told us there's no such thing as gravity - it's just the weight of air holding us down". Tell us of times you've been floored by abject stupidity. "Whenever I read the Daily Express" is not a valid answer.

What the fuck is so fucking funny you fat bitch?
I found myself screaming the above question in my head while smiling politely and chuckling gently to a friend of my girlfriend recently at a god awful social gathering I'd been forced to attend while a perfect nimbus of hate rose in my guts and started to pour out my pores.
There was a globe lamp that people were looking at, and everyone started pointing to places they had been on holiday.
She was unaware that Egypt was in the Northern Hemisphere
She was unaware that Jamaica was an island
Everyone there had no idea that the Arctic and specifically the North Pole is ice and not land.
Not the worst crimes in the world I admit, but for some reason the rage storm grew within me. Surely I am not alone in thinking that this is basic common knowledge? What made me most annoyed was the fact that she didn't care that she was stupid, it was fine, in fact it was even acceptable for her to make a huge joke about how thick she was. What the fuck is so funny about being ignorant?
Other people even started chiming in with like minded tales of their own idiotic Geographic ineptitude.
Am I just being a cunt or does the acceptance of ignorance/stupidity annoy anyone else?
What's that? I'm just being a cunt? oh

I agree
I am told that I am arrogant, but I see it as a duty to correct people hen they are wrong. I can gratiously accept corrections, and wouldn't want to go around being wrong, so it's a good thing when someone puts you straight. it seems other people do not think so, and would rather bumble about saying "dice" is the singular and and "die" is the plural. or "pacific is a perfectly acceptable substitute for specific", or "Red is negative, black is positive". cunts.

I blame the show Friends for this
Being a stupid bitch has positively been encouraged by Phoebe. I am disgusted I know the names of the characters.
But this idea girls get in their head about being CRAZY and WACKY just like Phoebe, not only makes them cool and quirky and kind of cute, but also absolves them of any blame of an important real life situation. Yes like that stupid but attractive girl at work who can get away with anything because she has tits. I blame Friends.

Is it okay to be stupid?
I live in Essex. I was born here. In nearly 25 years I've met an incredible number of people who seem to think that because ignorance is common, it's acceptable. These were the same people who decided that, because I understood semiotics at A Level, I was obviously sleeping with the teacher. I wasn't.
