Usuallythese places have CCTV on the entry machines, so that little ruse would be quickly discovered. And hereabouts, the first ten minutes is every bit as chargeable as the next hour.

Not really enforcable.What if, after getting your ticket, you get inside to find the car park full? They have to allow you the opportunity to exit without parking, so usually there's a 10 minute or so grace period before the exit machine starts to charge.
