Tightwads
There's saving money, and there's being tight: saving money at the expense of other people, or simply for the miserly hell of it.
Tell us about measures that go beyond simple belt tightening into the realms of Mr Scrooge.

Hmmm
It depends on the barometric pressure and humidity of the air, but a rule of thumb is that you can see your breath in still air if the temperature is around 10 degrees C or less. I'm a student in a cold, cold city with old, nasty buildings. I learned this the hard way.

A good route
to lung problems, underheating your home.
Look, we're designed to live in nice, warm places. We can deal with a bit of cold, but not constantly. Underheating homes kills more people than you'd think - being stingy can really really hurt some people.

Stop complaining
and put another jumper/pair of socks on.
That's the rule in my flat too.
No heating until breath is visible!
Not just economic but eco friendly too.

Easily solved
Take him somewhere sweltering and tell him he cant turn on the aircon until he breathes fire.
Or, no more shagging until the house is a constant 22 degrees.

Chilly
That's 10 degrees below freezing. Still, I suppose that's one way to keep warm.

Sounds like me
there are four of us living in a house, now the house is very old, poored concrete built in 1938, and huge, very hard to heat and the fire is going 24/7, any heat that isn't body heat or the fire is a luxury, all other attempts to heat it are in vein.
just thought it was funny that there is someone else out there that sees there breath inside

I'm a walking furnace
I put the heat on when I feel cold. Thing is, most people around me are dripping icicles from their noses before I notice the cold. If I felt colder sooner I'd put the heating on sooner; I'm not stingy with the gas bill. That said, with the obscene prices being charged by British Gas, maybe I should be.

Take up smoking
Not only will it help trick your other half into putting the heating on, the warmth from the cigarette will add to the all round toasty atmosphere.
