I can't say I knew her well
But please send my condolences on. Having been 'widowed' by a fiancee`, I sympathize greatly. Madeleine L'Engle wrote that losing a loved one is an amputation. It's much worse than losing a parent or sibling -- perhaps only surpassed by losing a child.
Would that there was something magical, healing or even right to say to Prof. Martin and Jessie/Nina's survivors. But I can only commiserate with how unfair it all seems, especially because judging from her profile, she seemed a remarkable woman, free of malice and full of life. And the world will be lesser for not having her continued contributions to it.
And the raccoons will surely notice their loss of her goodwill.
