i got a letter from the home office. they say it'll be up to 6 weeks before they tell me whether i can stay or not. gives me time to save up for the fee, i suppose :)

i saw a hat very much like it
in a charity shop. it was closed at the time, but i decided to go back and buy it. when i finally got around to it, it has been sold :(
still, that means there's someone else gadding about London in a hat like that, which can't be a bad thing!
