george lucas has very famously adopted the practice of green screenspecial effects. This means he does very little shooting of ACTUAL locations and just makes them on a pc afterwards.....very unconvincingly i might add

it means that instead of spending a few thousand picking a nice location to shoot and pay a few people to make propshe can spend millions on hiring computer artists and other geeky sorts
