Madeline McCann
Am I the only person annoyed by the whole Madeline McCann saga? Why is it that people everywhere went crazy when one child went missing?

Sure it's a tragedy and the parents must be gutted but c'mon, she's not the only child in the world that's gone missing. Just because the parents could afford to go on a European tour and convince every major network station to broadcast an appeal doesn't make their situation any more important than if some 8 y/o kid went missing from a primary school.

Unless they're from Glasgow, in which case they don't count.

On a slightly more serious note...
..I agree. And some of the not inconsiderable amount of time money and effort expended by the police and media on the extended and probably pointless search could have been directed towards the plight of other, equally needy, missing children. Especially as Maddy had already been eaten by her parents anyway.

and it was a slow news week when she disappeared.

IF she was from a single parent council estate home and her parent had left her in the hotel for a night on the piss the coverage would have been a lot different.

I was in the pub a bit ago, and I heard two Tories discussing seriously the liklihood that the only way Cameron would lose the election was if they found Maddy McCann in his freezer

I wonder if other kids were never found because people were all too busy looking for Madeleine. It's sad, but she's not any more or less important than any other child.
