Um, I bought one in Berkeley, CAI too read "Little Black Sambo" as a child, and even now, the idea of tigers turning to butter gives me the shivers.
That said, it never turned me into a racist, never understood what all the fuss was about.
And yes, I bought a copy for a pal of mine in good old hippie Berkeley. Which just goes to show.

As a kid, I loved Agatha CristieI had one book which is called: "and then there were nine". Before that it was "ten little indians" but the version I read was called "ten little niggers". So dodgy.
