Rubbish Towns
I once went to Basildon. It was closed, I got chased by a bunch of knuckle-dragged yobs until I was lost in a maze of concrete alleyways and got food poisoning off pie. Tell us about the awful places you've visited or have your home.
Thanks to SpankyHanky for the suggestion

I was there last weekend...
First time my Hubby and I have been away for a weekend and not had a single homophobic remark made, in fact we got complemented by the people in Yates's as a lovely couple.
The caves under the shopping centre are great, it has what purports to be Englands oldest pub and the people are all friendly.
They can't run a train service for toffee, tho. Six and a half hours to do a journey that should have been less than 3!!

Call me naive but...
I don't think the city of Nottingham runs the trains.

I've known a few people at the uni and apparently that's not bad - it's got a rock scene, lessons do not involve learning how to protect yourself from gun toting teenagers and being publically shat on.
