# quick, messy rehash of an old one

I'm well aware that there are people pulling Rupert's strings too

# But like all the biggest things
they're too big to see.

:)

Also, a quick threadjack to say that my stories Dawn Touches the Girl and The Tale of the Siamese Painting are currently free at Smashwords for their Summer/Winter sale, so long as you follow the instructions to enter a coupon at the purchase page. "BUY" THEM. Yes. One is about vampires and has lots of sweary words, while the other is about a myserious painting and doesn't.
(, Fri 8 Jul 2011, 19:45, archived)
# download them then you bastards
these two stories are fantastic. yeah.
(, Fri 8 Jul 2011, 20:15, archived)
# FUCK YOU ALL THEN
Go on. You'd enjoy them. They're free. They're also ace. I particularly love "The Tale of the Siamese Painting" which has an air vaguely reminiscent of Neil Gaiman.

string theory at its finest

I wouldn't dare speculate as to who's pulling his strings but it's got to be ** ******* or *** *a***** I reckon

That'd be Prince Philip. In his lizard form, most likely.

# everyone deserves a second chance
I mean, if you resigned from a job because of widespread reports of abuse of the system and law breaking, you'd expect to be re-hired in one of the most prominent positions in the country wouldn't you?

# It's a shame that Labour can't stick the knife in quite as much as they'd like
Given their own failure to deal with the issue when it first reared its head

# Labour: this policy the government is introducing will waste millions in tax money.
Conservatives: Oh yeah? Well you lot wrecked the economy.

Usual Labour response: *silence*
Correct Labour response: That doesn't invalidate our argument. Learn some logic you stupid toffs.

I read Hansard far too much, but that's pretty much the Conservatives' answer to everything.

It rather does invalidate their argument. Since they wrecked the economy, any subsequent protestations about their opponents' financial acumen ring rather hollow. You know, what with their not having the faintest idea how to manage money in the first place.

It'd be rather like Gary Glitter's claiming that child beauty pageants are wrong because they sexualise children.
(, Mon 11 Jul 2011, 0:30, archived)

Err, not so much. I can easily be crap at something, but still know that somebody else is also crap at the same thing in a different way.

The nature of child beauty pageants doesn't change on the basis of what Gary Glitter thinks.

# To be fair, that's probably the most simple and honest statement anyone has made in this debacle
I'm not saying it's right...but it's an honest reason and one which cannot be argued with.
